Le Printemps I
"Le Printemps I” was inspired by spring’s arrival, the explosion of cherry blossoms where I live in Tiburon, and the memory of years living in Paris & Provence, as well as the hope that was on the horizon. The cherry blossoms in Japan are a symbolic flower of spring, time of renewal and the ephemeral fleeting nature of life. I hope this piece helps the viewer feel joy & hope when they see it.
I grew up in Mill Valley, California and studied in the East Bay and Paris before following a childhood dream to live in Europe. After realizing this dream, and over ten years in France & Italy, I have come full circle returning home to the San Francisco Bay Area.
A lifetime of uprooting and letting go of everything known ? friends, family, home, culture and all things familiar ? has had a profound effect on my life and my work.
